I'm baaacckk yo!

Back in Florida, boo hoo. Florida is stupid. The mountains rulleee. I said that everyday I was there, kind of a downer eh? It's true! The weather was amazinggg, I'm always always borderline hypothermic in FLORIDA but I was in heaven in the 50s in NC. LOVELY!

Look. At. This. Porch. and tell me that you wouldn't sit there all day everyday drinking wine and reading magazines. That's clearly why I don't live there, I have a life goal to be a contributing member of society and I just wouldn't be able to pull that off there with the porch view and perfect weather.

Moving right along I'm going to give bullet points and picture, no one wants to read a 5 point essay on my trip and let's be honest, I'm a fan of the bullet point.

  • Drive there, JM got pulled over in GA as always, but escaped with a warning (not usually the case)
  • Arrived after taking the scenic view because someone refused to update the 1990's technology we were using to get there
  • CUTEST CABIN, best porch, even better weather
  • Trip to the store to get wine and snacks and then a yummy spaghetti dinner with JMs fam after visiting
  • Next day we explored the some of the local spots and kinda scoped out the area - had dinner at the Banner Elk Cafe.
Me and the sexy bear at dinner - I love the mountains!
$12 bag of candy - if you've met JM you knew this would be a must see
I legit have like 50 pictures of flower boxes, flower box capital of the world, they're so pretty.

  • Umm next day we hiked to the top and then to the bottom of Linville Falls. (not going to lie, need to do more hiking or ANY physical activity, it was, ahem. Challenging. I was breathing a little harder than is attractive, seriously.) Definitely burned off my southern fried chicken lunch special from Famous Louise's.

  • We also did the Linville Caverns before we had to make it to ASU for the Faculty Bassoon Concert at 4 pm. I refuse to say anything more than that about why that was on our list. The caverns were pretty cool minus my mild concussion - taking pictures became way more important than safety, I was warned, I chose to ignore the watch your head announcement and now I'm nursing a concussion. It happens.

  •
  • Grandfather Mountain was on our list for the next day along with Blowing Rock - cutest little city and even more flower boxes.

Ok ok - I'm done. Had an amazing time and after some downtime watching Prime time tonight (because I can't even handle how many shows are on that I want to watch all in the same 3 hour span) we're back to demo/moving mode in the morning. Going to be harddd work but I won't be AT work and that's a definite plus. :)

Have a lovely Tuesday evening!
